Welcome!

I’m an Assistant Professor of Economics at Western Michigan University. I’m a health economist studying health behaviors across the life course and how policy, salient events, and environmental conditions shape them.

Current projects examine the long-run impacts of youth sports on health and cognition, how indirect exposure to high-profile violence affects physical activity and well-being, and how tobacco taxes influence perinatal outcomes.

I’m also working on intergenerational effects of youth sports participation (Title IX), links between cannabis policy and health behaviors, the lasting health impacts of early environmental exposures, and trade liberalization and healthy aging in Mexico.

Here is my CV.
